Growing up, I found that most teachers expect fundamentals to be understood off the get-go or after one lesson - especially in classrooms where 1-1 teaching is extremely rare. I intend to ensure foundational knowledge is present before progressing through the student's learning objectives; if you're fluent in the basics, you can grasp the advanced topics easily.
