I focus on making difficult topics simple, understandable and less stressful, adapting each lesson to the student rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for exams or simply building confidence, I’ll help you get there. I believe one of the most important things in education is having a reason to want to learn. I don't believe there are “bad students”, sometimes a student simply hasn't found the way of learning that works for them yet. My approach is therefore creative, flexible and personalised. I enjoy working with children and have experience helping my younger brother with schoolwork, as well as supporting younger students in the past. I am relatively new to formal tutoring, but I see this as a positive: I can approach each student with fresh eyes and focus on what genuinely works for them. I like using a student's own interests to make lessons more engaging. This could mean using sports, books, films and cartoons, YouTube, games, music, singing or storytelling to explain a difficult concept or create examples they can relate to. If a student loves football, for example, we can use football-related examples to practise maths or English; if they enjoy stories, we can use characters and plots to make a topic easier to remember. I would also use the first lesson as a relaxed introduction. We can talk about the student's goals, interests and difficulties, look at their current level and identify what they would like to improve. This helps me understand whether we are a good fit and allows me to create a learning plan specifically around their needs, interests and goals. My aim is not simply to help a student get through an exam, but to make them feel more curious and capable of learning independently.
