Advert description
My background is working in NHS mental health services and previously in a university student counselling service. I hold a PhD in Psychology and am a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
I have experience in helping people overcome obstacles getting in the way of their academic progress and longer term goals. I offer coaching and guided self help to build confidence, problem solve and keep students moving forward.
I take a person-centred, collaborative and non-judgemental approach, recognising that everyone has their own strengths, values and aspirations. My aim is to help individuals gain clarity about what they want to achieve, identify potential barriers and develop realistic, achievable plans for moving forward.
While this is not psychological therapy, I do draw on my psychological knowledge and professional experience to offer thoughtful, individually tailored coaching. Having undertaken many years of study myself, I am very familiar with the challenges presented by academia and the struggle to maintain work /life balance.
