I have helped students with life in UK exams to understand what is required and have one to one sessions to ensure they are confident speaking English, as English is not there first language. My routine for teaching English effectively, is focused on practical, beginner-friendly skills that build understanding before expecting them to speak. Use pictures, slow clear speech and use short sentences for confidence. Show total physical responses, by linking language to physical movement for example stand up (you stand up). Do example of role play for example when ordering food from a restaurant.
