Advert description
French is my mother tongue, and I have experience helping students develop their French language skills at different levels, from GCSE and A level to adult learners.
I have experience tutoring students at GCSE and A level, as well as adults learning French for personal, professional, or academic reasons. I adapt my teaching to the individual learner, whether you are looking to improve your grammar and vocabulary, develop confidence in speaking and writing, prepare for an exam, or strengthen particular areas where you are struggling.
As well as having a native-level command of French, I understand the challenges of learning and using a language in an academic context. I adopt a patient, systematic and individualised approach towards each student, with the aim to help students improve their French while also enabling them to understand how they can best make progress and become more confident and independent learners.
One of my previous students was preparing for A level French and needed to achieve a particular grade to secure her place at Oxford. Through targeted tutoring and support with her areas of difficulty, she achieved the grade she needed.
I also have a strong academic background, having completed postgraduate research in the life sciences. This has given me extensive experience of explaining complex ideas clearly, working systematically towards academic goals, and adapting my approach to different learners.
Whether you are preparing for GCSE or A level, returning to French after a break, or learning French as an adult, I would be happy to help you build your skills and confidence.
I am happy to offer tutoring in person in London, as well as online for students elsewhere in the UK and beyond.
