Final-Year PhD Chemistry Researcher | Chemistry Tutor | All Levels

Hi! I’m Alaina, a final-year PhD researcher in Chemistry at UCL, with a First Class MSci Chemistry degree from the University of Glasgow and several years of experience tutoring students in Chemistry.

I have experience teaching students from GCSE and A-Level through to university level, and I’m happy to work with students at different stages and abilities. Whether you’re looking for help understanding difficult concepts, preparing for exams, improving grades or building confidence, I can tailor lessons around what each student needs.

My approach is focused on developing genuine understanding rather than simply memorising information. I like to break down challenging ideas into manageable steps, work through problems together and adapt my explanations to suit the individual student. I aim to make lessons engaging and create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn.

Alongside private tutoring, I have extensive teaching experience at university level, supporting undergraduate Chemistry students through laboratory classes and tutorials. I have also supervised undergraduate research students and worked as a Chemistry question writer.

I’m currently offering online lessons with flexible scheduling. If you’re looking for a friendly, knowledgeable and experienced Chemistry tutor, I’d be happy to hear from you and discuss how I can help.
