My first priority is to understand each student’s goals and current level of progress in their English GCSE journey. For English Literature, lessons will focus on analysing key quotes, exploring their connotations, linking them to relevant context, and considering the author’s intent. This analytical approach will prepare students to confidently tackle past papers and exam-style questions while refining their paragraph structure and aligning closely with the exam mark scheme. For English Language, my aim is to expand students' vocabulary to enhance their creative writing skills and help them achieve the distinctiveness needed for a Grade 9. We will also develop a deep familiarity with the specific marking criteria for each question in the English Language paper.
Each lesson will end with a 5-minute review session to reflect on what went well and what should be maintained and to set a clear goal for the next lesson.
