English tutor for students aged 11-16

I am a final year Business Management Undergraduate with a strong background in English literature and language, as well as studying a degree that requires advanced English writing and speaking skills for a range of purposes including essay writing, report writing, proofreading, and critical analysis/thinking skills. I am confident in my ability to help others succeed in English, my family has a long background in private tutoring for English and sciences, I have aided in covering lessons for them from time to time, to which I am also now looking to expand my own client base after learning and experiencing what is required of a successful tutor.

I provide a relaxed and motivating atmosphere as I welcome feedback, implementing positivity and humour where appropriate in order to keep lessons engaging, particularly as I understand for younger students it may be harder to retain attention for certain periods.

I generally adopt a task-based approach to teaching, however depending on the outcome of the initial needs assessment, will be flexible as required. I always seek to make clear the lesson objective to students, and to allow time for feedback and review at the end of each lesson.

Lessons will typically range between 30 mins - 1 hour, standard rates are £13 per hour or £10 for a 30 minute lesson.
