Classical singing teacher providing lessons to anyone from 14 years old and up
Advert description
I am an opera singer and accompanist from Singapore who has been living in London since 2018. I came here to train at the Royal College of Music and during the pandemic, I decided to train as a music therapist. I recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I enjoy sharing my passion for music with others and I believe I have a lot of knowledge to share with whoever is interested!
I have many years of training and performance experience in classical singing and piano. Over the last 4 years, I have taught a number of students over the age of 17, both in person and online in Singapore and London. These students have included those who have taken high-grade exams with ABRSM and I am also able to provide services as a professional accompanist should students prefer. Other students have taken lessons to work towards performances or simply to learn a new skill.
I believe in a healthy balance between technique and musicality. One informs the other. It is important to build a strong foundation in singing technique so that you can tell a story through your voice. I would love to work with anyone who would like to learn more about classical singing technique and story-telling and with anyone who'd like to challenge themselves to learn a new skill or simply just to have fun.
As I come from a classical singing background, I do not take students younger than 14 as this might be too early to begin. Classical vocal study requires the use of muscles in ways that are unfamiliar and starting too early could potentially be damaging to vocal health.
