I believe in a healthy balance between technique and musicality — each one informs and supports the other. Building a strong technical foundation allows you to sing with freedom and confidence, and ultimately to tell a story through your voice.
I work with singers who are curious about classical technique and expressive storytelling, as well as anyone looking to challenge themselves, develop a new skill, or simply rediscover the joy of singing.
In our first few lessons, we focus on breath, vocal pedagogy, and getting to know how your individual voice and body work together. I introduce purposeful warm-ups and exercises so that you feel confident practising independently at home. Students are also welcome to record sessions if helpful, as listening back can be a valuable way to track progress and build awareness.
As your technique becomes more natural, we begin exploring repertoire in greater depth — shaping interpretation, character and meaning in a way that feels authentic to you as a singer.
Most importantly, I aim for lessons to feel relaxed, enjoyable and collaborative. I value getting to know each student and choosing repertoire together that feels both engaging and rewarding. While you don’t need specific goals to begin, performances or exams can sometimes provide helpful motivation if that’s something you’d like to work towards.
With my classical background, I typically work with students aged 14 and above, as healthy vocal development is especially important for younger voices.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, I’d love to hear from you and answer any questions.
