Advert description
I am a second-year Medical Sciences student at the University of Cambridge, having achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and an A* in A-Level Mathematics.
From my experience, students often struggle with Maths not because they do not understand the content, but because they find it difficult to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions. A-Level Maths in particular requires a solid understanding of core concepts, before applying that understanding to different exam scenarios.
In the first lesson, I would normally establish a student's strengths and weaknesses by working through a few questions together and discussing their goals. This allows me to identify which topics are particularly difficult, so that I can create a plan going forward.
My lessons focus on understanding rather than memorisation. We will work through examples, exam-style questions, and past papers, paying attention to common mistakes and exam technique. I encourage students to explain their reasoning as they work through problems, as this often highlights gaps in understanding and helps build confidence.
Whether you are aiming to improve your grades or develop your mathematical understanding, I will also try to help you become more confident and enthusiastic about the subject.
