Bilingual Japanese/English speaker; First-class LSE and Oxford graduate - open to all levels

I offer tutoring in Japanese. I am a native-level Japanese and English speaker — someone who enjoys manga, variety shows, and literature. My approach combines structured learning with materials that are actually engaging. Lessons will include the fundamentals — grammar, kanji, vocabulary, and writing practice — but I also believe strongly in tailoring content to a student's interests. Whether a student enjoys manga, sports or literature, I will incorporate Japanese materials from those areas into lessons, as idioms and natural speech patterns stick far more readily when encountered in context. I also place a lot of emphasis on conversation practice at every stage, since speaking builds confidence quickly and reveals gaps that written exercises alone tend to miss.

I teach across all levels. My aim is to adapt to what each student needs and make the material feel relevant and interesting, not just something to get through.
