I am a native-level Japanese and English speaker. Growing up, I worked part-time in a café and restaurant and interned at a financial firm in Tokyo. Away from work, I have always kept close to Japanese culture — whether reading manga like One Piece, One Punch Man, and Spy x Family, watching variety shows, or following news and literature from Japan. My lessons are open to all levels — from complete beginners looking to get started, through to more advanced learners wanting to refine their fluency, grammar, or reading ability. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, so whether you are preparing for an exam, learning for travel, or simply curious about Japan, I will work around your goals and pace.

I also teach history. I studied history from IGCSE (A*) and IB (7) through to a first-class BA and a first-class MSc in African Studies. So I am familiar with the subject across a wide range of levels — both the exam pressures students face early, the curricula, and what examiners are looking for, and can help with everything from structuring essays and exam technique to building understanding of a period or theme.
