Art history graduate and gallery assistant offering online contemporary art lessons for students and adults.

Advert description
I'm an art history student with three years of hands-on experience across contemporary art galleries, archives, and academic research in Rome, and this September I'll begin an MA in Curating at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London — one of the world's leading centers for the study and practice of contemporary art. This isn't knowledge from textbooks alone: I've assisted with real exhibition installations, worked directly with artists and curators, and spent months inside a private collection's archive piecing together decades of art history first-hand. What I bring to lessons is the ability to make contemporary art feel accessible rather than intimidating. A lot of people assume you need specialist vocabulary to "get" contemporary art — I don't think that's true, and I won't teach it that way. Depending on what you're working toward, I can help you build a genuine visual literacy (how to look at and talk about a work with confidence), prepare for essays or exams with clear structure and strong arguments, or simply explore movements, artists, and ideas that interest you at your own pace. I tailor every lesson to the person in front of me — a student under exam pressure needs something different from an adult exploring a new interest, and I adjust accordingly. My own path has taken me through Nicaragua, Argentina, Italy, and soon the UK, and juggling different academic systems and languages has taught me to explain things clearly, patiently, and without assuming prior knowledge. My goal in every lesson is simple: that you leave understanding more than you did before, and a little more curious than when we started.
