My name is Lewis.

I am a husband, a software developer turned aspiring writer, and one of those people who wants to really understand rather than simply know about a subject—up to and including where it came from in the first place.

This has much to do with why I love history and have been inspired to pursue a career as a private tutor in the subject.

The three qualities that anyone I have the blessing and the privilege to teach can expect are:

• I am passionate: What I might lack in professional experience I more than make up for in genuine love for human history and a longing to learn more about it for myself first and foremost. And that translates: because I love to learn I love to teach others what I've learnt.

• I am personable: Because I sincerely care about the subject, I sincerely care about you and how you learn the subject. My tutoring will therefore be reflective of this care about you and how you learn, personalising lessons to meet whatever your needs may be. And beyond this, I want you to not just know but understand and come to love the subject as I do: and a big part of that is to simply enjoy yourself doing so.

• I am affordable: As a consequence of my inexperience and lack of professional training in teaching, I come at a more affordable price. My hope is that the other two qualities of learning alongside me will persuade you that this means I'm good value for money.
