Advert description
My goal is to develop musical independence and creativity in my students! I'll be teaching you foundational skills so that you can learn to sight-read on your own, read and write music fluently, and play comfortably with good technique. Not interested in classical music? No problem! I also have plenty of experience in rock & pop, jazz and improvisation. First and foremost, I want to introduce my students to the entire instrument, not just one aspect of it.
I have been teaching a variety of instruments, primarily piano, for the last 7 years, hold a grade 8 certificate in flute, and have equivalent performance skills in piano.
All students regardless of age or ability are welcome. I have frequently worked with disabled students, and firmly believe that music should be accessible to everyone! I have taken multiple students to grade 6 and above with Trinity College London, and have a 100% pass rate for exams.
I have always been passionate about music from a young age. By the time I was 12, I was studying 6 different instruments. Naturally, I have been heavily involved in the classical music tuition scene for most of my life, and know all the ins and outs of what goes into providing a quality music lesson experience.
Playing instruments from different families has given me a unique insight into compositional techniques used by the masters of old, and into my own compositional work. When I am not teaching, I am writing my own electronic music for game jams and other personal projects.
Lessons are typically one hour, but can be adjusted to suit your needs.
I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
