English tutoring aiming to maximise student's progress by delivering carefully planned lessons, tailored to an individuals needs

Advert description
I am currently studying at university completing my BA HONS Primary Education degree. Therefore, I have informed knowledge of how children learn best and what makes a good teacher. Also, in my studies, I am required to complete placements in a range of schools which has provided me insight of the value of creating a solid student-teacher relationship and how children learn to the best of their ability. Through these experiences, I have also gained knowledge of all areas of the curriculum. I believe that having an exceptional English primary education will provide the foundation to learn in all subjects and succeed in professional and social life. It provides students with the ability to express their beliefs, communicate with others and read an array of material. My initial passion of English was ignited in Secondary School, when I realized the importance that the high-quality English education that I endured has upon other success in other subjects and my personal worldview. For example, I discovered how much information about society you can gather from texts, through analysis. This relates to my passion for the other humanities; Geography and History. I wish to specialize in this subject, because although I love the subject, I found it a challenge to teach the subject, therefore I need to learn the different teaching techniques used in English by experts. English should be taught at a high standard because it is particularly relevant in the current climate we are projected to teach in because of the effect of COVID-19 and the unfortunate aftermath it has had on many students. I had a discussion with a year 2 primary school teacher, when I completed work experience prior to the course, who stated that phonics had been prioritized even more in KS1, as children missed a year of having valuable face to face interaction with other children and adults. As the country rebuilds from a difficult and testing two years, I feel extremely passionate about children in the long term not being significantly affected due to the pandemic. Also, I have experience of online tutoring through completing an array of A level and GCSE sessions to students which has developed my skills working with older students. I have planned lessons and have been promoted recently to increase my opportunities, which I would like to continue to do so through expanding this.
