Advert description
I have a BA and MA with interdisciplinary concentrations in education, English, and history along with 18 hours of graduate credit specifically in linguistics for teaching ESL; I am also a certified teacher with endorsements in both elementary education (K-6 ELA/reading, math, science, and social studies) and special education (K-12, all subjects). Yet my true value comes from the breadth of my experience spanning the spectrum of the education profession, because I have worked with every age and level of learner across multiple content fields in a variety of roles. I work as a materials-design writer creating lessons for companies; provide instruction in classrooms, small groups, or one-on-one; and am an assessment specialist with over a decade of experience in high-stakes testing. Because I understand the whole chain involved in the learning process, I can provide differentiated instruction supporting students of varying capabilities as they work to attain specific learning goals. I'm a thoroughly Vygotskyan teacher philosophically, and I believe that "becoming ourselves through others" is the motto that guides my teaching and interactions with students. I happily donate my skills and abilities that help students bridge gaps and navigate across obstacles as they construct their learning to achieve higher levels of mastery and education goals.
