As a former Head Teacher in alternative provision, I have supported learners with a wide range of needs, including those who have experienced barriers to learning, exclusion, low confidence, anxiety, neurodivergence or gaps in education.
Key skills I bring include:
Clear and accessible communication
Building confidence and motivation in learners
Adapting lessons to different learning styles and needs
Supporting neurodivergent and dyslexic learners
Exam preparation, study skills and reflective learning strategies
Coaching and mentoring
Safeguarding awareness and child-centred practice
Creating calm, structured and supportive learning environments
I am particularly skilled at helping learners feel safe enough to ask questions, make mistakes and grow. My approach is inclusive, reflective and strengths-based, with a focus on progress, confidence and meaningful learning.
