I am a History teacher and tutor for students of all ages

I am a qualified History teacher with over ten years of experience teaching in a wide range of educational settings across the United Kingdom and abroad. Throughout my career, I have taught KS3, GCSE and A Level History, preparing students for AQA, Edexcel and OCR examinations while consistently helping learners achieve excellent academic outcomes.

My recent experience includes teaching at some of Yorkshire's most successful schools, including Ermysted’s Grammar School and Ilkley Grammar School. At Ermysted’s, I taught KS3 History and supported A Level students in their study of Fascism. At Ilkley Grammar School, I taught Geography across KS3 and KS4, including Year 11 classes, within a school whose Progress 8 score of +0.54 places it among the highest-performing state schools nationally. Students at Ilkley consistently achieve results significantly above national averages, with over 37% of GCSE grades awarded at grades 7–9 and an overall pass rate exceeding 99%.

I have also held positions at schools including Skipton Girls’ High School, Holy Trinity Academy, Belfairs Academy, Outwood Academy, Bradford Academy, Prince Henry’s Grammar School, Rossett School and Ilkley Grammar School. In addition, I have extensive experience working with SEN, PRU and alternative provision students, helping learners of all abilities to build confidence and achieve their potential.

Alongside classroom teaching, I work as a freelance tutor, providing one-to-one and small-group tuition. Since 2024, I have supported students preparing for Cambridge English examinations, GCSEs, A Levels and university entrance assessments. My approach combines strong subject knowledge, clear explanations and carefully structured lessons tailored to each student's needs.

Whether supporting a struggling learner, stretching a high-achieving student or preparing candidates for demanding examinations, my aim is always the same: to help students develop confidence, independence and a genuine understanding of the subject while achieving the best possible results.
