Advert description
Hi, I’m Rory Drinnan, a music producer and bassist based in East London.
I teach bass guitar, music theory, songwriting and music production to students of all ages and experience levels, both online and in person. Most people I work with are either complete beginners, self-taught musicians who feel stuck, or players who want to deepen their understanding and take things further. Whatever your starting point, lessons are shaped around your goals, interests and how you learn best.
What We Can Work On
Lessons can include:
* Bass technique and musicianship
* Music theory (kept practical and easy to apply)
* Ear training
* Improvisation
* Songwriting and composition
* Music production and recording
* Learning songs and understanding how they work
* Building an effective practice routine
My focus is always on making music theory and technique feel useful in real musical situations, rather than something separate from playing.
My Approach
No two students are the same, so lessons aren’t based on a fixed method. Some students want structure and a clear path. Others want help with specific songs, techniques or creative ideas. Most need a mix of both. My job is to help you figure out what’s holding you back and give you the tools to move forward with confidence. Lessons are relaxed, but always focused on real progress.
Who I Work With
I teach:
* Complete beginners
* Intermediate and advanced bass players
* Adult learners
* Children and teenagers
* Songwriters and composers
* Producers looking to strengthen their musical foundations
* Self-taught musicians who want clearer direction
No previous experience is needed.
First Lesson
The first lesson is a chance to get to know each other and talk about what you want to achieve. We’ll look at your background, your interests and your goals - whether that’s learning your favourite songs, improving technique, understanding theory, or writing your own music. From there, we’ll build a simple plan that works for you.
Get In Touch
If you’re interested in lessons, send me a message and tell me a bit about your experience, what music you like, and what you’d like help with.
I’m happy to answer any questions and see if lessons are a good fit for you.
