Friendly GCSE & A-Level Maths Tutor | Personalised Lessons from a Graduate-Entry Medical Student

I provide friendly, personalised Maths tuition for GCSE and A-level students. My lessons are tailored to each student’s current ability, learning style and goals, whether they are struggling with particular topics, preparing for exams or aiming for the highest grades.

I begin by identifying the student’s strengths, weaker areas and level of confidence. This allows me to plan lessons around what they genuinely need, rather than using the same approach for every student.

During each session, I break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps. Lessons combine explanations, worked examples, guided practice and independent problem-solving. I adapt the pace and the way I explain a topic until the student feels comfortable with the underlying method.

For students preparing for examinations, we regularly use exam-style questions and past papers. I help students understand what each question is asking, select an appropriate method, show their working clearly and avoid common mistakes. We also review incorrect answers carefully so that mistakes become useful learning opportunities.

My goal is not simply to help students memorise formulas or procedures. I aim to develop their understanding, confidence and ability to approach unfamiliar problems independently.

I am a graduate-entry medical student at Newcastle University. I also hold a Distinction in Biomedical Engineering (MSc) and a First-Class degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry (BSc) from the University of Warwick. Before studying medicine, I worked professionally as a data scientist, giving me extensive experience in mathematical reasoning, data analysis and practical problem-solving.

I achieved an A* in A-level Maths, including 100% across the core mathematics modules. I bring this strong academic background into supportive and approachable lessons designed around the individual student.
