Michael Bouvier

I am a dedicated and experienced Maths teacher with 12 years of teaching experience, working with students of all abilities from Year 7 through to Year 13. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong passion for helping students build confidence in Maths, overcome challenges, and achieve their full academic potential.

Over the years, I have developed comprehensive Schemes of Work and teaching resources covering a wide range of qualifications and ability levels, including: KS3, GCSE (Higher and Foundation), A-Level Maths, Further Maths or Entry Level.

I have extensive experience working one-to-one with students, allowing me to focus on their specific learning needs and provide targeted support. I use a variety of assessment methods and resources to identify students' strengths, pinpoint areas for improvement, and develop effective strategies to help them make meaningful progress. My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students develop the confidence and skills they need to become more independent learners.

In addition, I hold multiple SEND-related certifications, which have helped me develop a deeper understanding of the challenges that students with additional needs may face. This knowledge allows me to adapt my teaching methods, use appropriate educational strategies, and create tailored resources that make Maths more accessible and engaging. I strive to ensure that every student feels supported, valued, and capable of making progress, regardless of their starting point.

For the past six years, I have also worked as an A-Level Maths examiner for two different examination boards. This experience has given me valuable insight into the assessment process, mark schemes, and the skills students need to succeed in their exams. As a result, I am able to provide practical guidance on exam techniques, helping students understand how to structure their answers, identify where marks are awarded, and approach questions efficiently. My goal is to help students work smarter, focus on the key requirements of each question, and avoid spending unnecessary time on answers that may not gain additional marks.
