My tutoring sessions are friendly, interactive and tailored to how each student learns best. I begin by identifying the student’s current understanding, strengths and any areas where they lack confidence. From there, I create a personalised approach based on their goals, whether that is catching up, improving exam technique or aiming for a higher grade.

During lessons, I combine clear explanations with worked examples, guided practice and independent problem-solving. Difficult topics are broken down into smaller, manageable steps, and I adapt my explanations until the student feels comfortable with the underlying concept. I also use practical and real-world examples where appropriate to make abstract ideas easier to understand.

For GCSE and A-level students, lessons include regular use of exam-style questions and past papers. We focus not only on reaching the correct answer, but also on understanding what the examiner is looking for, choosing an efficient method and communicating the solution clearly. We review mistakes carefully so that students can recognise where they went wrong and approach similar questions more confidently in future.

My aim is to help students develop genuine understanding rather than simply memorising methods. I want each student to become more confident, independent and comfortable tackling unfamiliar questions.

I am a graduate-entry medical student at Newcastle University with a Distinction in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Warwick, a First-Class degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, and previous professional experience as a data scientist. This background allows me to bring strong subject knowledge, analytical thinking and practical problem-solving into my teaching.
