Advert description
I am a PhD biologist specialising in zoological sciences, ecology and tropical biodiversity, with more than 12 years’ university teaching experience.
I have taught Ecology and related subjects at universities in the UK and internationally, as well as supervising undergraduate, Masters-level and PhD research.
I can provide tutoring in Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science and Conservation, from A-Level through to university level.
My academic and research experience includes population ecology, mathematical ecology, biodiversity, conservation, environmental science, ecological modelling, statistics and quantitative data analysis.
I can support:
• A-Level Biology and Ecology
• University Ecology
• Zoology
• Conservation Biology
• Biodiversity
• Population ecology
• Environmental science
• Ecological statistics and data analysis
• Research projects and dissertations
• Scientific writing and interpretation of research papers
One of my particular strengths is connecting ecological theory with quantitative analysis. I can help students understand not only the biological concepts but also how scientists use data, mathematics and statistics to investigate ecological questions.
I currently provide one-to-one A-Level tutoring to a student on the autistic spectrum and take a calm, structured and individualised approach to teaching.
My aim is to help students develop genuine understanding, confidence and the ability to think independently about scientific problems.
Lessons are available online or, where practical, face-to-face in the Glossop/High Peak area.
