Professional and down to earth piano teacher looking for beginners to take through grades or learn improvisation

I've been really enjoying my singing lessons with Simon. He is so patient and encouraging, and that's makes a huge difference to me. I usually feel nervous singing in front of others, but Simon has a way of making me feel completely at ease and much more confident in myself. He's also very knowledgeable and always gives helpful tips and techniques that are easy to understand and put into practice. One thing I love is that he lets me choose the songs I want to work on. No matter what I bring in, he seems to instantly know how to play the melody on the piano, which helps me so much when learning a song and building confidence. There was even a time when I couldn't find childcare and had to bring my baby to a lesson. Simon was incredibly understanding and accommodating, which I really appreciated - I always look forward to my lessons

I started lessons with Simon as a complete beginner and was nervous about learning music as an adult. He made everything easy to understand and tailored the lessons to what I wanted to achieve rather than following a rigid programme. What I liked most was that the lessons were enjoyable and practical. Instead of just working through exercises, I was playing real music from the start and learning the theory as I went along. Simon was patient, encouraging, and always happy to explain things in different ways if needed. After a few months I felt much more confident at the piano and improvising away. I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a supportive and knowledgeable teacher.

Simon was patient understanding and knowledgeable, after only a few short lessons I was able to play the piece that had always been a goal for me to play. Excellent tutor would highly reccomend!!
