25+ Years of Real-World Engineering Experience Now Helping Students Master Maths, Physics & Engineering Science

Hi, I'm a mechanical engineer and further education lecturer based in Glasgow, with over 25 years of industry experience spanning marine engineering, oil and gas, facilities maintenance, and manufacturing.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland and have spent the last five years teaching SVQ, NC, and HND programmes at West College Scotland and City of Glasgow College. My teaching has covered subjects including Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Process Control, and Naval Architecture, alongside core Maths and Physics for engineering pathways.
What sets my tutoring apart is that I don't just teach the theory — I've lived it. My career took me from marine cadet and engineer with BP Shipping and Shell Shipping, through offshore and oil and gas roles, into facilities maintenance and hotel engineering, before moving into lecturing. That means when I explain a concept in Maths, Physics, or Engineering Science, I can show you exactly where it applies in the real world, not just how to pass an exam.
