25+ Years of Real-World Engineering Experience Now Helping Students Master Maths, Physics & Engineering Science

I am a Mechanical Engineer and Further Education Lecturer based in Glasgow, with over 25 years of industry experience across marine engineering, offshore and oil and gas, facilities maintenance, manufacturing and engineering education.
I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have spent the last five years teaching and supporting learners on SVQ, NC, HNC and HND engineering programmes.
What sets my tutoring apart is that I do not just teach the theory — I have applied it throughout my career. I have worked in offshore engineering, oil and gas, marine engineering, facilities maintenance and manufacturing before moving into further education lecturing.
This means that when I explain a concept in Maths, Physics or Engineering Science, I can show students where it is used in real engineering situations, not simply how to pass an exam.
I tutor:
● Maths – Primary level, National 3, National 4, National 5, Higher Applications of Mathematics, Higher Maths and Advanced Higher Maths
● Physics – National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher
● Engineering Science – National 5, Higher and college level
● Engineering – NC, HNC and HND level Mechanical Engineering support
I work with Primary, Secondary, College and Adult Learners, including students considering a career in STEM, engineering or an apprenticeship.
I am particularly well suited to students working towards Scottish qualifications such as National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, as well as learners on NC, HNC and HND engineering pathways.
My one-to-one sessions are tailored to each learner, with a strong focus on breaking difficult topics into clear steps, developing problem-solving skills and building genuine understanding rather than relying on memorisation.
I offer face-to-face tutoring in Glasgow and online tutoring throughout the UK.
Rate: £35 per hour.
10-hour tutoring package: £300.
