PhD Biology tutor supporting secondary and adult learners, focused on exam success, deep understanding, and confidence building

I am an experienced secondary school teacher and independent academic tutor with a strong background in Biology and Science education. I work with both secondary students preparing for GCSE, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams, and adult learners returning to education or pursuing academic and professional qualifications.

My approach is structured, goal-oriented and personalised. I begin by assessing current level, strengths and gaps, then design a clear learning plan with measurable targets. Lessons combine clear explanations, modelling of exam techniques, guided practice and independent application. I focus strongly on developing critical thinking, scientific literacy and exam confidence.

For secondary students, I prioritise curriculum alignment, exam strategy and retrieval practice to improve attainment and grades. For adult learners, I adapt content to real-world goals, professional pathways and flexible schedules, ensuring relevance and practical application.
