Online Japanese Tutor teaches students of all ages!

I studied Japanese for four years at university in the United States. I also completed a two month intensive Japanese language program with Princeton University, where I completed one year's worth of advanced Princeton Japanese language classes in two months while living in Japan. During my time as an undergraduate, I tutored undergraduate and postgraduate students in Japanese, where I saw them go from absolute beginners to able to read, write and speak Japanese within months. I also ran a weekly Japanese class for the local community, where I had the pleasure of teaching many different people from diverse backgrounds and ages. I then moved to Japan and lived and worked there for one full year before moving to the UK to complete a Masters.
Learning Japanese was one of the best things I have ever done, and it brings me great joy to impart that passion on my students. Learning a language is much more than a mechanical process- it requires an understanding of the target language's culture, as well as a passion and desire to immerse oneself in everything the language has to offer. As someone who has lived in Japan and has family there, I can help my students understand and grasp the many layers of Japanese culture, which will greatly help the mastery of the language.
