I have tutored all ages in Japanese for nearly three years, accumulating invaluable experience in molding my teaching to fit varying student needs. I have also lived and worked in Japan for one year, where I used Japanese on a daily basis in professional and casual settings. Through teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, I make it a point to assess my students' needs and adapt my teaching method to their individual learning styles, since everyone is different. As a native English speaker who has learned Japanese from the ground up, I know the difficulties students may encounter in their language learning journey, and I also know how to overcome them.
I will teach on Zoom where we will enjoy a fun, engaging, and challenging class that will be sure to not only provide effective language learning, but also use my in-depth cultural knowledge of Japan to make the lessons more immersive. Through my experience, I have realized that in order to master a language, one must master the culture, and I am here to make sure my students are provided with everything necessary to reach Japanese fluency, regardless of their level. Under my tutelage, I have seen absolute beginners go from knowing zero Japanese to being able to write, read, and speak the language within months.
At the end of the day, teaching Japanese is one of greatest passions, and it brings me great joy to see my students excel in their Japanese language study. Ganbarimashou (= "let's try our best")!
