Advert description
I am currently an MSc student at Heriot-Watt University. Before starting my master's, I studied Computer Engineering (focusing on AI and Machine Learning) and worked professionally as a Software Engineer. Working in the corporate tech world showed me firsthand why building a clear, logical foundation at a young age is so important for practical problem-solving later in life. Additionally, because of my active background in public speaking and university debating, my biggest strength as a tutor is communication. I know how to take complex, intimidating STEM topics and break them down into simple, bite-sized pieces that actually make sense.
How I Will Teach You:
I truly believe that a "one-size-fits-all" approach does not work for maths and science. I want my sessions to feel supportive, easy to follow, and completely built around what you actually need. When we first start, we’ll take a little time to figure out exactly where any gaps in your understanding might be. I am completely flexible with how we move forward—we can jump straight into a specific topic that's causing stress right now, or start right from the beginning of the syllabus.
Rather than just rushing to finish homework, my priority is making sure the core concepts make intuitive sense. To keep things engaging, I mix in short quizzes and real-world examples so you understand why a formula works instead of just memorising it. Once we have that solid foundation, we will focus on your coursework, practice exam techniques, and make sure you are fully prepared to succeed. My ultimate goal is to take the stress out of STEM and help you build lasting confidence!
