Youth and Student Counsellor

I am a proven motivator and am able to improve students' self-confidence and performance in school and beyond. I am particularly good at identifying areas of concern and formulating personalised plans to help my students achieve maximum progress at their own pace.
I believe I have taught my pupils to think outside the box whether that be perceptions of themselves and their abilities or how they view themselves in the wider spectrum of their social and school groups; this is achieved by using the mentoring and motivational skills I have honed through experience and an innate sense of empathy.

My passion for education and student wellbeing has never wavered. I love to build a rapport with a student in order to ignite a spark of curiosity, of confidence, of self-worth and then nurture it until it is powerful resource a student can tap into when they need it. Apart from always incorporating mentoring into my lessons, I also have extensive experience of providing mentoring sessions. I offer customised online, one-to-one sessions for high school and university students, helping them to develop effective study plans and time management strategies; I empower them to tackle academic challenges through identifying strengths, recognising areas in need of improvement, setting achievable goals and cultivating the resilience and confidence necessary to face challenges and learn from setbacks.

I know the positive results a supportive and inclusive environment can have and believe my breadth of experience has equipped me with the skills to adapt my holistic mentoring approach to cater to the diverse needs of students, one size most definitely does not fit all when working with students.
