Advert description
I am a fully qualified secondary Computer Science teacher (QTS, PGDE, MSc Computer Science), currently teaching the full OCR specification from KS3 through to A-Level in Harrow. I am also an OCR A-Level Computer Science examiner, which gives me direct insight into exam techniques, mark schemes, and what examiners look for in high-scoring answers — insight I build directly into how I prepare students for their exams.
Tutoring Approach
Computer Science is a content-heavy subject with concepts that can feel abstract, so I focus on making them concrete and structured:
Break down — complex logic, algorithms, and data structures broken into clear, manageable steps
Understand, not memorise — building genuine understanding of how and why something works, not just recall
Exam-focused practice — applying my examiner insight so students know exactly what earns marks
Structured delivery — a methodical, disciplined approach shaped by my background as a Hellenic Navy officer in NATO training roles
I also have experience supporting EAL and SEN students, and I run 1-to-1 sessions for A-Level NEA programming projects. Beyond the school curriculum, I bring strong grounding in Python, SQL, and Machine Learning, so I can extend lessons beyond the syllabus for students who want to go further.
My aim is to build students' confidence, strengthen their understanding, and help them achieve the grades they're capable of.
