Experienced Guitar Teacher Available

Advert description
Hi! I'm Andy, and I have been teaching guitar and bass since 2018. I believe music lessons should be fun, motivating and inspiring. Catering to each student's needs, keeping in mind their own personality and taste in music is essential to delivering a fun and effective teaching experience. I also believe music lessons should give the student a lifelong appreciation for music alongside the skills they learn on their instrument.

In a typical lesson with me, you can expect to begin with exercises, designed to challenge your sense of rhythm, knowledge of the guitar neck, chords, listening skills and musicality. We would then typically work on being able to play parts or entire songs I've selected based on a difficulty and style which is right for you. The objective here is to build up a repertoire of songs which you enjoy and which give you the most important skills to be on your way to learning songs yourself with ease.

I always aim to strike a balance between challenge and enjoyment. While I make a plan for every lesson, I am flexible to change the pace of the lesson where necessary, and to prioritize some things over others at the request of the student.

My teaching method lends to 4 year's experience of teaching guitar, bass and ukulele, past experience being taught by my own guitar teacher, voluntary work teaching music in colleges and my education studying music performance for 5 years. An enhanced DBS certificate is available upon request.
