A motivated A-level student with predicted grades A*A*A including A* in Maths, I want to give confidence into GCSE Maths students.

I currently mentor AS-Level Maths students throughout my final year in college. I prefer teaching struggling students by understanding their strengths and weak points on certain topics and looking at how to strengthen them. First, I give them a question regarding the topic needed support with and let them independently do the question, once they feel that they are stuck or they have done the question to the best ability that they can then I would step in and give guidance including real-world examples on how to understand the next step and why it is necessary for the final solution. Once they identify the missing steps or mistakes they may have been making then I request for them to answer a similar question on the topic again, but independently. This process allows me to spot their weaknesses in topics and ensure that they can fully understand the why and how before moving on.
