My lessons are designed to make Mathematics easier to understand, engaging, and less intimidating. I believe in understanding the logic behind a method rather than simply memorising formulas, as this helps students tackle unfamiliar questions with greater confidence.
I begin by understanding each student's current level, strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals. I then tailor lessons to their needs, whether that involves strengthening foundational concepts, working through school assignments, tackling challenging problems, or preparing for exams. I use clear explanations, step-by-step worked examples, and practice questions to reinforce understanding. I also encourage students to attempt problems independently, ask questions freely, and explore different approaches to solving problems.
My academic background has given me a strong foundation in Mathematics. I scored 99 in both IGCSE Extended Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, achieved a 7 in IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL, and earned a Silver Medal in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO). I am currently pursuing a BSc in Economics at the London School of Economics, where analytical thinking and quantitative skills are essential.
I also have experience teaching Mathematics, Science, and English to children from government schools. This helped me develop patience, communicate ideas clearly, and adapt my explanations to suit different learning styles.
Above all, I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and develop a lasting understanding of Mathematics. I want every student to leave a lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.
