My name is Kitty and I am currently living in West Sussex, England. I am a CELTA-qualified English and ESOL teacher with over 12 years of experience, teaching everyone from teenagers to adults, and from complete beginners through to advanced level. I also offer Business English lessons for those looking to develop their professional communication skills. My lessons are friendly, fun, and relaxed — I know how important it is to feel confident when speaking, mistakes and all! I lived in Japan for 12 years and experienced firsthand the challenges of learning and communicating in another language. Starting with only a basic understanding of Japanese, I worked hard to improve in everyday situations — from conversations with neighbours to important appointments at banks and other services. That experience gave me a deep appreciation of how vital language is for integrating into society, building confidence, and feeling truly independent. It also gave me patience, empathy, and a genuine understanding of the obstacles language learners face — which I bring to every lesson. Having achieved JLPT N3 level, I am also able to offer beginner Japanese lessons for anyone looking to take their first steps in the language.
