Photography Tutor. Providing lessons for all ages

I am an experienced educator, photographer and creative practitioner with a passion for designing engaging learning experiences that inspire confidence, creativity and achievement. With over a decade of experience in further education, photography and curriculum development, I combine practical industry knowledge with a learner-centred approach to education.

I hold a Master's degree in Photography and have extensive experience teaching photography across a range of ages and abilities. Alongside my teaching role, I have designed and developed accredited photography programmes, including an EduQual Level 2 qualification, creating schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, learning resources and online content delivered through a Learning Management System (LMS).

My experience extends beyond classroom teaching into curriculum design, quality assurance, learner assessment and educational project management. I enjoy transforming complex ideas into accessible, engaging learning experiences and have a strong understanding of online and blended learning approaches.

As the founder of RootsShoots Photography and RootsShoots Creative CIC, I have developed creative educational programmes that encourage learners to build confidence, technical skills and personal expression through photography. Managing these initiatives has strengthened my skills in project planning, communication, stakeholder engagement, marketing, budgeting and continuous improvement.

Alongside education, I continue to work professionally as a photographer, delivering family, portrait and event photography while maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism. This enables me to bring current industry practice into my teaching and curriculum design.

I am highly organised, adaptable and committed to lifelong learning. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues, supporting learners to achieve their potential and contributing to innovative educational projects. I am now seeking opportunities in curriculum design, learning design, educational consultancy or photography education where I can combine my creative background, teaching expertise and passion for developing high-quality learning experiences.
