Classical and Jazz Piano, Music Theory, and Composition Lessons

Matthew Hartdegen is a South African composer, professional musician, and well-recognised teacher, having worked in the Middle East, performed in Europe, and throughout South Africa. Matthew’s consistent dedication to education has seen him integrate and specialise in hyper-personalised, tailored educational experiences that bring about holistic, real-life learning experiences to the classroom through pedagogical approaches focusing on creative experience and creativity-based practices. Having taught the IB syllabus (International Baccalaureate), Canadian Curriculum (Ontario and Prince Edward Island Syllabi), Cambridge IGCSE, IEB and CAPS, Matthew believes that creativity is the key to unlocking a person’s educational journey and to maximise fully integrated learning. Matthew is booked for concerts and gigs until the end of the year. He is regularly performing across South Africa’s various multi-faceted music scenes, including genres such as Western Art Classical Music, Jazz, Pop, and various Contemporary Projects, including collaborations with R&B, Amapiano, and Soul Artists in studio and on stage. Matthew is currently contracted to and working with Beat Pulse Labs as a Quality Assurance Specialist, managing 300 Music Analysts within his team, working through Spotify’s vast music library with the aim of developing Generative Creativity AI models.
