Career Coach for young adults entering the workforce

As an Employment Coach for 6 years at the University of Toronto, I advised and supported students in a positive and understanding manner on a number of issues related to academics and their careers.

Furthermore, I designed, coordinated, promoted and implemented effective job search and employment based workshops and outreach sessions, complete with resources and evaluation forms based on a set of KPI’s, collecting information that was both qualitative and quantitative in order to refine. I delivered more than 100 sessions for students and alumni, speaking and engaging groups of students of 5 up to 200+ participants. I worked collaboratively on a regular basis and developed strong working partnerships with many campus groups, faculties, departments and divisions. In addition, I updated many of the workshops; the last being the Medical School Interview workshop for which I spoke to universities across Canada and the U.S.A. in order to provide the most up to date information to our students.

In addition, I have recruited, trained and managed a number of work-study students over the years and have collaboratively worked together with many of them to create and implement strong outreach workshops as I felt it was a good opportunity for my then work study students to challenge themselves and a good way to connect and relate to their peers. Finally I believe that my cumulative experiences, including my work abroad in Spain and Japan as well as in teaching and team leadership at Duolingo have given me a strong skillset to support young workers entering the global workplace.
