I take a democratic and holistic perspective to my sessions. I know that the career discovery and job search process can be overwhelming and I like to make it a little easier by breaking down our goals into manageable chunks. Keeping the end goal in mind while we take the steps needed to check off actionable tasks along the way. I will start by asking what brought you in for coaching, get an idea of where your skillset is and what you’d like to work on and areas that are working well. Oftentimes because the process can seem daunting and multiple areas may need some closer work I like to focus on one or two key items per session whether it is discovering more about yourself, a personality type assessment, understanding the connection between you skills, education, experience and interests and a career. Also looking at items such as how to write a strong CV, what to include depending on the type of work you’re looking for, how to market yourself in a cover letter and in the interview. Furthermore to this, I have a strong background in prepping friends for medical school interviews complete with bioethical questions and strategies to answer them and insight into the interview stages. I also love working on and reviewing letters of intent, college/university essays, providing resources and ideas of how to conduct further exploration if you’re feeling stuck and unsure of what your next steps should be. My purpose and drive comes from helping others to build confidence in themselves and their abilities and seeing them through to achieving their goals! You can do it!
