Enthusiastic science tutor providing teaching to GCSE and A Level students

Hi, my name is Hermione and I tutor Science and Maths GCSE/A Level to a range of students. Currently I am studying Chemistry at Cardiff University and I’m in my 4th year. I love crocheting, looking after my plants and cuddling with my dog (he’s the baby of the family).

Learning is directly linked to a student’s interests so I always make the effort to get to know my students and their interests and incorporate it into our lessons, such as mnemonics and even their favourite musicians/idols! My lessons are relaxed, colourful and helpful, there’s no such thing as a silly question. I aim to make my lessons as interactive as possible by allowing students to express themselves and choosing what they want to learn, I always make sure they’re happy with what we’re doing. I am familiar with AQA/EDEXCEL/OCR exam boards but I’m open to looking at others.

I have tutored for a few companies on the side (such as Tutor in a Box) and other younger students, including my sister in the COVID-19 lockdowns. My students have described me as encouraging and providing a safe space for them to learn which is what I aim to do.

I am very chatty, motivated and offer great exam advice to students of all abilities and I aim to welcome them with open arms-I have looked through every exam paper and see the patterns in what they ask every year.
