University of Cambridge MPhil Graduate in English Literature

I completed my Master's degree in English Literature from the University of Cambridge this past year and graduated in July. I completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto the previous year, where I graduated as the top English specialist student in my college.

I am excellent at teaching students how to analyze English Literature effectively, and I make the learning process engaging and clear. I understand that literary analysis can sometimes seem intimidating and confusing, but I break it down and teach it in a way that makes it approachable and understandable.

I teach students:

-- about literary techniques (such as metaphor, enjambment, and irony), including their definitions, how to find them in texts, and what they consequently mean within a literary text.
-- how to make strong argumentative arguments about literary texts.
-- how to analyze literary texts in unique and insightful ways that allow the student’s own personal perspectives to shine through while still remaining academic.
-- how to come up with a high-level on-the-spot analysis of a passage during an exam (including GCSE or A Level)
-- how to write effective university and scholarship applications. I received over $85,000 in my undergrad. I have coached 12 students over the past 3 years on scholarship applications, all receiving scholarships between $2,000 - $10,000.
