I am currently a sixth form student at The Perse Upper School in Cambridgeshire. I completed my GCSEs last year therefore I am very experienced and familiar with what exam boards are looking at and how and what your child needs to do in order to excel in their subjects. I received 4 9s and 5 8s at GCSE (8s in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Spanish, English Language and 9s in Biology, English Literature, Religious Studies and Geography). In particular, I was in the top percentage of the UK in terms of my English Literature score as I achieved 156 marks out of 160 marks.
In order to help your child succeed in English Literature, I have personally created a range of resources that helped me excel which I will be able to provide your child with as well to ensure that they can excel too! As I have just recently completed my GCSEs, I am up-to-date with AQA's expectations to get a 9 therefore I can help guide and support your child to achieve the best score possible for them. For English Literature, I offer tutoring for the following texts: Jekyll & Hyde, Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, Power and Conflict Poems and Unseen Poetry.
Analysis of texts that students are unfamiliar with is a very common struggle for most students therefore this is a critical skill throughout the English literature GCSE, especially for the unseen poetry component of the exam therefore this is a skill that I would focus on first if you invest in tutoring with me fore your child as I believe that this is a vital skill for succeeding in all aspects of the English Literature GCSE papers. There is a gargantuan amount of information to learn for English Literature and often students struggle with this therefore I hope to provide support for your child as often it feels impossible to overcome this barrier especially when you typically have 8 or 9 other GCSEs to study for.
