Online biology tutoring📚🧬 GCSE and A-level

Hello!

My name is Abbie and I’m an online biology tutor. I am a second year medical student at the University of Bristol and am particularly fascinated by human biology. As someone who is neurodivergent, I understand how important it is to find a learning style that works for you. My tutoring is centred around forming a strong rapport with my tutees and figuring out exactly what works for them. I want every single student to feel safe and supported as we work together towards their goals. I think it’s so important to have open and honest dialogue between myself, tutees and parents/carers, and I will always be led by my students.

I studied A-level biology, chemistry and maths, achieving A*AA*. I also have an AS level in English language, where I achieved an A. I have over 140 hours of tutoring experience, with students from KS3-KS5. During Sixth Form I also helped out in English and science lessons to help build my experience and confidence. Having grown up in a family that fosters, I have a lot of experience with young people. I also volunteered in Bristol Children's Hospital for several years.

Outside of education, I really enjoy bouldering and dancing, and watching musicals!

Great lessons and rhe content was always what i needed to work on specifically and always based of the specification so i knew it was usefull for my exam. Every session would also start with a review of what we covered in the last session to refresh my memory and highlighted what my weaker areas were as well as reviewing whole topics when we have covered it all before moving on . Especially after my mocks where i got a 4 i wasnt very confident at getting the 6 in biology that i was aiming for but with abbies guidence i got it and am now studing human biology for a levels which i would not of been able to do if i jad only got a 4 so im so gratfull . Every lesson was so enjoyable and customed to you and this really helps as if you are interested in the subject it makes it easier. Thank you abbie i would highly recomend .

Abbie makes complicated topics and concepts feel easy through slides that strip back complex wording and instead focus on the essential information needed, helping the information to really stick. She has been very helpful in allowing me to fully understand the content being taught, taking time to re-explain information if necessary with easy to understand diagrams and real-time presentations that help highlight the issue I am facing with my understanding. She has shown a real passion and engagement when teaching me, making the lessons feel enjoyable and worthwhile, preventing them from feeling at all tedious. Since Abbie has been helping me I have jumped 4 grades at A Level which is very telling of the impact she has had on my results. Alongside the presentations, she has taken time to focus on exam technique and past questions which has allowed me to understand mark schemes, helping me to apply the knowledge she has taught into exam style questions. Abbie is an amazing tutor who I can tell really wants her pupils to improve and be able to do their best. Her explanations are simple and clear which is a big factor that I find helps me during tutoring. She takes time to create detailed slides and is a really down to earth person that’s super easy to chat to. Abbie is great at communicating about booking new sessions and is really understanding and flexible. Coming out of my sessions I have definitely learned the content in a way that suits me best as she has loads of tools such as drawing through an explanation which is a good visual guide to make sure it’s 100% in my head. Abbie is very smart and any question I have she hasn’t failed to answer. I definitely recommend :)
