A bit about me…
I’m 18 years old and I’m currently a student in Brighton, studying art and design. My mother is English and my father is Spanish, so I have been brought up fluently in both languages. By living in both countries for extended periods of time, I have learnt about the Spanish and English customs and learnt how to connect really well with international people.
When I lived in Madrid, I used to volunteer at a school where I taught Y5 students music lessons in English. After 3 years, we formed a strong bond and they felt comfortable in confiding in me, and speaking up about any difficulties they were struggling with while learning English. This experience made me particularly interested in teaching languages, as I learnt it can be a heartwarming, joyful experience for both the teacher and the student.
