¡Hola!
I'm Selene, a native Spanish speaker from Spain and an Economics & Business student at the University of Sussex. I tutor Spanish at all levels: from complete beginners who just want to hold a conversation, to GCSE and A-level students working towards the best grade they can get. As a native speaker I bring the everyday, colloquial Spanish that textbooks miss, alongside the grammar foundations exams reward. I've supported Spanish learners as a classroom teaching assistant and through one-to-one practice, and I focus on the two things that actually build fluency: speaking out loud without fear of mistakes (easier said than done, I know), and understanding why the grammar works rather than just memorising it. Patient, encouraging, and happy to shape sessions around what you need.

My lessons are built around learning through conversation. There'll be written work too, but the main idea as with nearly everything is to actually use the language. I treat learning Spanish as a skill: it takes time, but it's incredibly rewarding. I'll introduce you to everyday expressions and colloquialisms, and give you answers rooted in first-hand experience and real context, not just rules on a page.

You'll come away able to speak, write and express yourself in a language that's genuinely not only useful and beautiful is one that opens doors throughout your life.
