Advert description
I am passionate about teaching and genuinely enjoy helping students develop their confidence, knowledge and enjoyment of learning. I am enthusiastic about the teaching and learning process and believe that every child can succeed when they are given the right support, encouragement and opportunities to learn in a way that suits them.
Over the past two years, I have specialised in providing one-to-one tuition in students' homes, working with children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This has enabled me to develop a patient, flexible and highly personalised approach, adapting each lesson to meet individual learning styles, abilities and needs. Building positive relationships with both students and families is at the heart of my teaching, and I understand the importance of creating a calm, supportive environment where learners feel safe to ask questions and build confidence.
As both a tutor and a parent, I know first-hand the difference that regular one-to-one tuition can make. Having supported my own children through their education and worked with tutors myself, I appreciate how personalised teaching can transform a student's confidence, motivation and academic progress.
I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) in Zoology and am currently undertaking a Master's in Education and hold a TEFL qualification. Prior to becoming a tutor, I successfully ran my own IT marketing company, giving me strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills that I bring to my teaching.
I currently tutor all Sciences to GCSE level and Biology to A-Level as well as GCSE Business and GCSE Geography. My teaching style is relaxed, engaging and student-centred. I believe that children learn best when they feel happy, motivated and interested, so I strive to make every lesson enjoyable, interactive and relevant to the individual learner.
I am empathetic, patient and an attentive listener, and I pride myself on tailoring every lesson to the student's specific needs. Whether supporting a learner with SEND, building confidence after a period away from education, or helping a student achieve their academic goals, I aim to ensure every learner feels supported, valued and empowered to succeed.
