Boost confidence, fill gaps in knowlege and get exam question practice

Advert description
My starting point GCSE is to start from tutee's and parents initial feedback on current grades and strengths and weaknesses. We then work on filling gaps, clearing up misconceptions and giving plenty of practice in the type of questions that will come up in assessments.

As an experienced examiner for both GCSE and A level I can direct tutee's to the key area's to work on, what to watch out for and how to develop their answers fully.

Each session is fully resourced with carefully curated materials to engage students using a wide range of engaging and interactive activities including quizzes, short video clips and short and long answer questions.

My aims are to boost tutee's confidence in their own ability, in order for them to acheive the very best exam result they are capable of. I work to help the student understand that they often know and understand far more than they think they do. I encourage students to trust their intincts and take leaps of faith which they often struggle to do in the classroom setting.

Students learn to verbalise their undertanding and explain how they came to the answer they did .We will work together to help them develop their scientific reasoning and how to write their answers down using the correct keywords to maximise their marks in assessments.

I have a lots of experience teaching and tutoring students of all abilities and needs. As each session is tailored to the individual student.

Tutoring can be helping high level students to attain the highest of grades by challenging their understanding and applying them to the hardest topics and questions.

It can also be working with struggling students who may lack engagement in lessons with significant gaps in knowledge and low confidence in their scientific knowledge with significant misconceptions .

I have had numerous messages from parents expressing their joy that their child has rediscovered an earlier love of science once they have had just a few tuition sessions with me , due to them being able access the learning in lessons once again.

Mrs Gilmore is a fantastic teacher. She is enthusiastic and experienced, and she makes every subject she teaches interesting for pupils. She supported my daughter throughout last year, and her grades have improved more than we expected. My daughter is a SEN child who struggles with attention span. This was not the issue with Mrs Gilmore, as she kept her engaged throughout every lesson and made her look forward to the next one, even with the toughest subjects. Mrs Gilmore kept us informed about my daughter's progress and the plan for the next sessions. If you are looking to support your child, look no further, as Mrs Gilmore is absolutely outstanding and exceeded our expectations.
