Advert description
I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable tackling difficult topics and asking questions. My teaching style is patient, strategic, and adaptable: recognising that every student learns differently. I focus on developing understanding alongside exam technique and revision skills, helping students build both confidence and independence. Having recently completed school examinations myself, I understand the challenges students face and enjoy helping them overcome them. Alongside supporting students academically, I am currently studying Psychology at the University of Bath, and have completed IB Higher Level Biology and Psychology in Sixth Form. This keeps me connected to current exam board requirements, allowing me to offer up-to-date guidance across GCSE, IGCSE, IB, and A-level curricula and assessment styles.
Each session typically opens with a quick recap of previous work, moves into new content with worked examples, then closes with past-paper or exam-style practice matched to the relevant specification. Whether in-person or online, I keep lessons interactive by using shared documents and visual explanations tailored to students' personal needs, and always leave time for questions.
My tutoring and teaching experience spans peer mentoring, academic support, and educational work with children. At Hockerill Anglo-European College, I supported GCSE students through the Maths Tutoring Society while studying IB Mathematics (AA). At Dulwich College (Singapore), I provided Biology tutoring to peers and younger students preparing for IGCSE examinations. I am thus confident in my ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, build students' confidence and independence, and foster genuine engagement with learning.
